Top Ten Trends I'd Like To See More/Less Of - Top Ten Tuesday(1)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Top Ten Trends You Would Like to See More or Less of

Dystopia: I love it. Always has a futuristic atmosphere going for it. The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld is amazing. Divergent by Veronica Roth, another great one. Dystopia is the best.

Steampunk: If you look at my To Read For Review on the sidebar(right) you'll see Dead Iron: The Age of Steam. Have seen lots of praise for it and great ratings.

Faeries:  I want more faeries. Recently read The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. Faerie perfection, by the way. Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series was another win too. And there is talk of The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton. Want that book in my hands like now!

Less.......

Zombies- No offense but don't like zombies. Eeww. Why zombies? There is only one I liked which was The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. Great read.

Angels & Demons- There is too many and some not so good either.

So that's it, for now.

  1. I'm glad to see Steampunk still going strong. I have a Steampunk logged away in my imagination I just don't have time to write down right now. It's called 'The Mechanical Witch.'

    Maybe after the chronicles...

    Hmmm...

  2. Great list! I still haven't read any steampunk, although I have a few books on my list. I'm glad to see someone else who loves faeries as much as I do! Have you checked out Lesley Livingston's faerie books? To me, so far anyway, she and Julie Kagawa are hands-down the best authors of faerie books. I can't wait for Kiki Hamilton's book either!

  4. I agree on less zombies, zombies are just not my thing with the whole trying to eat your brains stuff going on... That's just gross!
