Author Interview
Questions and Answers
1. Nora tell us what is your book "The Twelfth Paladin" about?
Nora Weston (The Author): Hi, Cassandra! I’m thrilled to be visiting your blog. Thank you for having me.
In my latest release, “The Twelfth Paladin,” good against evil battles as an angel, demons, and a temptress extraordinaire vie for the soul of Jake Cottrell. Jake dares Hell to burn him. Hell agrees.
All seems lost, but Jake is scarred with angelfire by a rebellious angel, named Micah. Sanctioned to become the twelfth paladin in Micah’s supernatural unit of slayers, Jake must survive. However, regret abounds as Micah is banished and ordered to protect what he now despises…a human he believes is unworthy of such an honor. Never fear, Jake is a seeker of mischief who soars on a blistering blacktop to escape the wrath of Hell while he transforms into the twelfth paladin.
This supernatural/thriller dives deep into a dreadful realm where temptations of the wicked kind devour Jake Cottrell’s ability to choose good over evil. William Congreve wrote, “Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned,” and Jake goes to great lengths to prove that. This novel explores how temptations can warp reality...make wrong seem right, and it sheds light on the powerful roles hope and faith can play when a person is in dire need of a spiritual transformation.
2. Why do you love writing paranormal?
Nora Weston (The Author):I grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia, and my home was set against dark woods. Every night, whispers from afar and eerie howls, surely of shapeshifters or werewolves, held me spellbound. Combine that with too many hours spent watching The Twilight Zone, plus Dark Shadows, and there was no way to contain my imagination. My sister, Anna, and I were hooked at an early age! I also still love the original Star Trek episodes, which my kids have rejected probably a thousand times.
Anything, and everything, paranormal interests me! Isn’t it a blast when you enter a creepy, old house and feel something odd, or maybe you’d swear the air speaks with otherworldly voices? Reading and writing paranormal books makes ordinary days more exciting, plus let’s face it...dreams are much more interesting too if one’s imagination can soar into realms where everything is possible.
3. Tell us about a book you love to read if your a reader?
Nora Weston (The Author):This is a great question! I like to be scared, and I also enjoy a good mystery. Two books that provided these things are, “That Which Should Not Be” by Brett Talley and “Bloodletter” by Angel Haze. Both authors sent chills down my spine with their frightening tales of horror. I kept turning each page faster and faster to figure out the secrets.
4. Are there other books you have written in the paranormal genre? Care to tell us what about?
Nora Weston (The Author): I’ve contributed paranormal stories and poetry to anthologies, like “Mind Mutations,” “Cyber Pulp’s Halloween 3.0,” and “Dark Pleasures,” plus my work can be found online too. I believe “Wicked Little Thing” is still searchable at Static Movement Online. It’s about a witch who steals evil souls to remain young, but unfortunately for her...she gets burned by her own fire. Although not a paranormal novel, my science fiction/adventure “Guardian 2632” does have a bit of paranormal activity since one of the characters has “above normal” physic ability, which she passes on to her daughter.
5. What's your favorite thing about being an author?
Nora Weston (The Author): Absolutely, my favorite thing about being an author is escaping my laundry room! I’m not kidding, well...maybe a little. As a mother of six, and frequent visitors...escaping that place is a rush like no other. No wonder my mind drifts away into different time periods, places where laundry does itself and groceries restock automatically.
Another thing I truly love about writing? It’s great to dream about better tomorrows. My characters will always climb dangerous mountains, jump through time to save lives, battle with demons, and fight with their own personal monsters to overcome hardships...and to learn something valuable from their mistakes. Writing about heroes who will stop at nothing to succeed, somehow, encourages us all to try and be kinder, and to go the extra mile.
6. Tell us more?
Nora Weston (The Author): Sure! Five random things about Nora...
1. I could live on glazed donuts.
2. I could live on glazed donuts—and be happier if hot tea is included.
3. Coke or Pepsi? Must be Coke!
4. I have no idea what my real hair color is anymore.
5. My all-time favorite book is “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas.

The Book
The Twelfth Paladin by Nora Weston
Scarred with angelfire by a rebellious angel named Micah, Jake Cottrell is sanctioned to become the twelfth paladin in Micah's supernatural unit of slayers. However, regret abounds as Micah is banished from his command and ordered to protect what he now despises…a human he believes is unworthy of such an honor.
Jake slips far away from righteousness, outwardly proving Micah's judgment, by replying to a wicked email from next@hell.net. Forever a seeker of mischief, Jake dares Hell to burn him. Hell agrees. Davis Travers thickens the plot by introducing Jake to Rachel Darnell. A temptress extraordinaire, she erupts from the fiery pits to steal Jake's soul. After a steamy seduction from the dark side, Jake is left spellbound.
With his soul dangling between Heaven and Hell, Jake soars on a blistering blacktop to escape the wrath of Hell as he fights for redemption while transforming into the twelfth paladin. Feel the heat as you grab your precious soul and go for a virtual roller coaster ride into Hell and back.
