While technically my first taste of EDM (electronic dance music) was back in 2011, it wasn't until yesterday that I really thought to look into more EDM.
And let me tell you as much as I complain that music across all genres is on the edge of always being stagnant (unless you're TK from Ling Tosite Sigure or Ling Tosite Sigure) that is not the case when it comes to the EDM scene.
While taste testing tons of tracks on Youtube under EDM playlists I came across tons of gorgeous tracks. And when I mean gorgeous I mean stimulating music none of the weak, tepid music so many music labels out there want to push at us. This isn't mediocre music, well, most of the time.
That said, I don't think EDM is for everyone. I would venture to say this is music for those who want a shock to their system since I do agree at times the music can be a little aggressive since this is full-on hardcore electronic music not watered down or mixed into other types of music. Which is what gives it, its power, to make you dance.
If you're interested in music that makes you feel alive, here are some starting points:

- Calavera by Hardwell and Kura
- Hollywood by Afrojack and Hardwell
Hardwell!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love their music! if you like Hardwell, you might like Tiesto. Different style, but makes you feel alive and want to get up and do something.
EDM has become my "get pumped up!" music that i listen to before a big meeting at work, or just about anytime that i need to wake up and get excited for something.
Hey Redhead [wink, wink]
ReplyDeleteYeah. I have come across Tiesto a little bit. I do like it. Sorry, I only mentioned Hardwell because his sound was the one that most jumped at me. So I guess I like it more. But I am definitely planning to check out more by Tiesto.
