Hocus Pocus 2 Movie Review (with Spoilers & Theories)

It had a few great moments but it was certainly not as good as the original. And while that may be The Sanderson sisters and Mr. Traske did breathe life into it.

I actually lost my composure and belly laughed when it came to Mr. Traske. He was so dumb but entertaining to watch. His parts were some of the best in the movie. His actor is Tony Hale which will make note of for future reference.

I really thing the movie struggled when it came to the girls. Becca wasn't someone all that likeable. She was at times too passive but toward the end as she took the lead with the girls it somewhat reedemed itself.

The end was quite interesting since it's something I enjoy. Gives you space for theories:

1: The Supreme witch that gifted the Sanderson sisters with the book was alive but weirdly never made an appearance but we saw the bird that was her watching the girls.

First Look—The Winchesters on The CW

One of my biggest worries about the premiere of The Winchesters is how good or bad the acting would be. If the actors' acting is bad it really detracts from the enjoyment of a TV series or movie and lately there are a lot of young or newbie actors that just do not know how to act. The story could have potential but if their acting is stilted or unbelievable that can ruin the experience. Thankfully on first watch as soon as the episode started both Mary and John Winchester were acceptable although I do think at times the actress for Mary Winchester (Meg Donnelly) is way more natural than the actor for John Winchester (Drake Rodger). But again it is minor given I have seen worse acting.

Another of my concerns for the series is how fast it would move along. On first look The Winchesters was pretty fast-paced and I think this is great that the series has already set of the type of pace and tone it will follow. I think this is good because while it is great to lay out a show's background when you go too slow things can get rather boring fast.

The Winchesters has great pacing and on first watch it has established itself with decent acting with Mary Winchester being the biggest highlight.

A Movie Review—Hocus Pocus 2

Director: Anne Fletcher  Writers: David KirschnerBlake Harris

IMDb overview: Three young women accidentally bring back the Sanderson sisters to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.

Hocus Pocus is a Halloween classic that most people at least in the USA know about. While it is seen as a classic today it wasn't always like that since when it originally released in 1993 it was seen as a flop or at least nothing to talk about. After a few re-runs on TV mostly by Disney and ABC Family it gained life with people growing up in the 2000s who really enjoyed its old-timey feel and older generation appeal. You could watch it and it would give you that older time vibe.

For us to get a Hocus Pocus 2 movie is actually quite unimaginable given how many years it had been since the first one's release. So much so I myself can't believe it.

And while there are many fans of Hocus Pocus it is important for them to realize the original was never a cinematic masterpiece. Hocus Pocus was a cheesy, albeit fun Halloween comedy movie with no grand aspirations.
