Blue Exorcist was released in 2011. Crackle had begun to stream it for their anime selection. When I came across it thought the story sounded really interesting. Also the cover image for Blue Exorcist was beautiful. In anime the anime’s cover image is an almost perfect representation of an anime’s animation quality. Recently in 2013 recalled how in 2011 saw this interesting anime’s first episode halfway through. The reason never finished it at the time was because Crackle’s streaming was incredibly slow and glitchy at the time. Although finally got around to watching the complete 25 episode series this May.

Blue Exorcist actually happens to have been based on a manga series by Kazue Kato. At the beginning of May happened to read Vol. 1-2  to make sure Blue Exorcist was something really was interested in watching in anime form and also to get a feel for the series. The manga itself was fun (which means have to buy the rest of the manga and soon!) and the anime follows the manga mostly really closely. Although back to the anime the character designs and backgrounds are quite unique. The animation is quite colorful and has this pastel look in its coloring. The characters themselves all have believably real and differing personalities which makes you really love the characters. As a Blue Exorcist fan, Rin Okumura’s my favorite, then Shiemi, and Yukio Okumura. The concept mythology of demons and Gehenna (demon world) and Assiah (human world) as two mirrors side by side makes for great storytelling. Blue Exorcist has a lot to offer from action, superb animation, and characters. Really not at all surprised that sometime this Summer, Blue Exorcist, will be getting a movie based off the anime series!

Genre: Fantasy, Supernatural, Comedy

Recommendation Level: Extremely High

Anime Soundtrack Side-note
Opening Theme:
"Core Pride" by UVERworld
#2: "In My World" by ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D
Ending Theme:
"Take Off" by 2PM
#2: "Wired Life" by Meisa Kuroki

OP #1: The Op is done by UVERworld! The lyrics and vocals are amazing. This is a band that really recommend. The animation sequence really fit the song perfectly.
ED #1: One of the most lively songs and does make Blue Exorcist’s first ED a good end per episode.

OP#2: Definitely fits with Blue Exorcist’s serious melancholy theme in the series.
ED#2: The ED is really catchy and fits to the anime.
