TV Casual Talk: The Secret Circle on The CW "Witness the Birth of Real Power Episodes 10-15"

A recap/casual look at The Secret Circle's Episodes 10-15. Beginning with "Darkness"
Lots of things are changing so far. With the show slowing down for Episode 16, Lucky, hopefully you viewers out there would like to take a fast look at the show since it's return on  January 5, 2012 of this year. Let me know what you think too in the comments and will love to exchange any theories and questions (since I just adore this show!).

                            Official CW Show Overview
Cassie Blake was a happy, normal teenage girl - until her mother Amelia dies in what appears to be a tragic accidental fire. Orphaned and deeply saddened, Cassie moves in with her warm and loving grandmother Jane in the beautiful small town of Chance Harbor, Washington - the town her mother left so many years before - where the residents seem to know more about Cassie than she does about herself. As Cassie gets to know her high school classmates, including sweet-natured Diana and her handsome boyfriend Adam, brooding loner Nick, mean-girl Faye and her sidekick Melissa, strange and frightening things begin to happen. When her new friends explain that they are all descended from powerful witches, and they've been waiting for Cassie to join them and complete a new generation of the Secret Circle, Cassie refuses to believe them - until Adam.

In Darkness (Season 1, Episode 10)
The Secret Circle went on a break during just after the episode "Balcoin", so on its return quite a few changes came. Cassie Blake seems to have a new hairstyle which didn't prefer too much yet she's looking good as ever. On a more important note, Cassie is more determined to unearth what her power means concerning it being connected to the Balcoin line . In this episode Diana's grandmother, Kate (played by Stepfanie Kramer), comes to visit and we meet Lee (played by Grey Damon)  -From The Nine Lives of Chloe King) a vodoo practitioner of magic. At first appearing to want to help Cassie she turns on her. It also comes to light, Kate , has a strong authority in the elder witch Council. The episode's tone was rather grim and serious indicating perhaps that Cassie might embrace her dark, Balcoin magic. Overall an interesting watch no questions asked.

In Fire/Ice (Season 1, Episode 11)
While Diana appears to have gotten over Adam she still harbors feelings toward him. None appear more stronger in this episode when Adam is eager to begin his relationship with Cassie. While Faye, lustful for power that's as strong as Cassie's turns to Lee for help. It keeps becoming more and more apparent that Lee doesn't ever put a stop on Faye which he should! She would get in trouble otherwise. So, The Circle gains some bad side effects because of Faye's experiments. Cassie gets in a dangerous situation but an unknown figure comes to save the day. And , of course, finally Adam and Cassie share their first wonderful kiss! This episode felt very realistic-high school with the high school dance involved, so in ways, entertaining to see. Recommend watching.

In Witness (Season 1, Episode 12)
Jake returns just as soon as Adam and Cassie kiss. With Jake's return we see Cassie turn to Jake to help her discover a way to protect The Circle with the use of Black Magic. Adam doesn't like it at all. He feels Jake is having a bad influence on Cassie and could further put her in danger because of his witch hunter past. Still Jake is willing to allow Cassie to go into his memories to discover what really happened the day of the boat fire when many of the previous generation of The Secret Circle witches died. The past for it though isn't at all pleasant.

In Medallion (Season 1, Episode 13)
Cassie is more than willing to use the magic of the Balcoin line especially since she feels accepted the way she is --Cassie with Black Magic -- by Jake. Jake who supports the decision to do whatever , even use Black Magic to protect The Circle alongside Cassie. To which Adam who's now in a relationship with Cassie is disapproving. During the episode of Cassie gained a medallion owned by her father, John Blackwell. Cassie desperate to put it to use trusts , Lucy, a psychic who was originally John Blackwell's psychic (the psychic played by Lauren Stamile) isn't on their side. And in a fit of protective rage Cassie almost kills her. Cassie realizes that she may have put the whole Circle in danger by wanting to protect the Circle by using the medallion containing Black Magic. Highly dissappointed with herself, Cassie , pulls away from Jake. Jake sees that Cassie is shutting him out and is thoroughly despairing , so he turns to Faye for comfort like old times. How awful for Jake. He got rejected by Cassie. He obviously had a hard time with it. Since leaving things have very much changed for Cassie/Jake.  This episode was melancholy but worthy to watch.

In Valentine (Season 1, Episode 14)

In Valentine, Adam wants to have romantic evening with Cassie but Diana along with Melissa want to have a anti-guy Valentine's Day. Although Cassie doesn't much like the idea she agrees. Once there, Cassie gets hunted by the spirits of dead witches trapped inside the medallion originally owned by John Blackwell who slaughtered witches to get the power to make the medallion extremely strong. Adam and Jake race to help Cassie and an unforseen situation crops up. Melissa back at anti-guy Valentine's Day sleep over at Faye's has a bad reaction to given to her by Lee's friend, Callum (played by Michael Graziadei), who seems rather edgy but bad news. Callum having first appeared in episode 12, "Witness" of The Secret Circle. This episode has to be a really good watch because we're discovering John Blackwell's real history --obviously he has done some awful things-- all while seeing drama unfold throughout the characters of The Secret Circle show!

In Return (Season 1, Episode 15)
Cassie's father shows up after being believed dead (and evil!) Adam is suspicious but Cassie wants  to get know the real John Blackwell. John Blackwell mentions he needs the medallion but in episode she has destroyed it, so Blackwell is somewhat flustered prompting Cassie to have an outburst on John. Poor Cassie. Cassie is put in danger when an old witch hunter enemy returns from John's past. So, Jake tries for a selfless deal to protect Cassie when she's put in danger. Meanwhile, Melissa doesn't seem to have learned that drugs and drug dealer--Callum, Lee's vodoo practitioner friend-- can be dangerous. Diana, Faye , and Lee worried about her show up to help her. When turns on Lee about keeping witch girls to himself, Lee becomes outraged showing he might care about Faye really. For Lee and Faye fans, Faye and Lee kiss in this episode. Good for Faye, she'll be able to move on from Jake who's relationship with her is just dysfunctional. A pretty great episode.

The show hasn't had a boring episode so far since its return on January 5, 2012 with "Darkness". What do you think, so far? Any episode that has been your favorite and what are you looking forward to in pairings: Jake/Cassie (Yes!), Cassie/Adam more, and Faye/Lee?
