Finally Amazon.com has regulated the price to an acceptable price. It used to be $80.99 or about.

Let's hope that Amazon.com keeps up with having reasonable prices on anime. The only downside is that Blood +: Part One is still $199.99 and $97.99. With these prices not regulated by Amazon.com yet sales may not increase or happen with prices like that for Part One.

"When talking with my sister at dinner a few weeks ago, the subject turned to reading. As kids, we were voracious readers. When the Scholastic Book Club newsletter came to us in our grade schools, we’d circle all the books we could, great books like Encyclopedia Brown, The Cricket in Times Square, The Phantom Tollbooth were our best friends growing up. She bought a whole set of beloved children’s books for our nieces, but sadly when she asked if they’d read the books, they told her that just didn’t have the time. Sadly, I’ve even heard stories that the Book Clubs themselves have devolved into a catalog of toys and junk for kids.

It seems like an epidemic. Kids don’t seem to read anymore. We live in a world where more than three paragraphs of text on a Web page are called too much. We’re too busy to write complete sentences, so we write things like “LOL”, “LMAO”, and “BFF”. That’s just sad. Because a great book can inspire you, can lift you up, and can broaden your world. If you look at the most successful people in the world, most of them can rattle off a list of their favorite books.

Darker Than Black was one of the anime watches you sometimes stumble on and don't realize until later is pretty fantastic. Going in there were no expectations since there wasn't anything to go by. It was completely new. From our introduction to the world of Darker Than Black. Soon, you are brought up to speed on what's going on. In what's considered the world everyone lives in a few years back The Gates started to appear turning groups of regular everyday people into something other than human. They became either contractors, medatoriums, and or dolls. All of which, who aren't exactly entirely human. It's a really intriguing premise which delivers finely throughout the series.

Being a book lover, movie fanatic, and avid t.v. watcher isn't the only things I'll be taking up this December. I'll also be working on new content for the blog. 

I've decided to up my movie reviews and add anime reviews as well. You can expect in the months to come various Anime series reviews and an increase of Movie reviews. I'll be doing a few video game reviews but not many. Working on The Last Song (2010) movie review. So, expect seeing that in the month of December.

1. Was what Ash was shown in his future going to happen? Concerning him aging and Puck (Robin Goodfellow) ending up with Meghan Chase.

 

My Opinion: I think it's possible that Ash might age but will Puck really do that to Ash.

2. Do you think Ash and Meghan would really have a child that in some way was never mentioned disappoints them. In what way can he/she disappoint them?

My Opinion: About Ash and Meghan having children. Of course, it's possible they are in love after all. Yet, it's very mysterious why their child would cause them heartache. Again, it's

never completely mentioned.

3. If Ash dies? If he really died that will be terrible but couldn't he just get healed?

My opinion: I don't really remember if he could die, I mean, if he's said to be mortal but somehow still a feary ice prince at his core. Then, how could he die?

Reading and Thinking: Characters or Plot?

I came across a blog post out of curiosity that set out to reveal whether characters or plot matter most to readers. So with that I attempted to look into this.

As an avid reader, I , believe characters matter to a point but plot matters more. For example see Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight didn’t have characters with real complexity but the plot itself was rather good, since it became an instant hit with many young adult readers including with me. Although, the plot being better than characters isn’t all black and white. For romance books or heavily emotional baggage books character complexity should be central.

It’s also important to note that sometimes neither character or plot can come out dominant at times. And when this happens, you have books where plots and character importance is on the same level. These authors are what sometimes come out with a winning book.

An Anime Series Review: Blood + (U.S. Release 2006-2008)

Throughout the passage of time and the shifts in backgrounds, a particular war continues to leave its mark on history, extending its influence into the modern world. There are two major groups involved in the ensuring war. The first group consists of monsters known as Chiropterans who can change their appearances into that of human beings. They are actually immortals who feed on the blood of the living. The second group is an organisation known as the "Red Shield", formed to track down these monsters and exterminate them. Otonashi Saya is a high-school girl who lives a peaceful life with her family. The only problem is, she has no recollections of her life beyond that of the past year. However, her happy life will be destroyed by an event that will lead her to her destined fate.

Blood + Episode Count: 50 episodes 

Saya & Haji  

Saya Otanashi is so far just an amnesiac teenage girl. Yet, behind the surface she comes to discover in an event that will change her life forever that she isn't human at all. Saya is a member of chiropterans (vampires but like the type you'd never expect at all, way freakier). These chiropterans live on blood and murder humans. She's also one of the few of her species. She alone can destroy these ugly monsters. Her blood contains amazing attributes that eventually destroy them. Saya must for the most part throughout struggle to recall her origins along with her very attractive protector Haji. Who I should say is bound to her most of the time. Nobody who knows of what Saya is and what it all really means is willing to tell her because as you soon realize it is a closely guarded secret for a reason. That's until, BAM!, we are introduced to Diva. Diva is Saya's sister. She couldn't be bothered. What she reveals to Saya and not at all gently turns Saya's world upside down. Saya somehow finds the strength to get over her past which is very turbulent. As we travel with Saya in the series, her adoptive human family, also make themselves available to assist her in destroying the chiropterans that are very bloodthirsty. Blood + has some of the most appealing animation I have witnessed. Contains the best drama which includes plot twists just so you know. In short an amazing anime watch that fans of anime with a taste of Science Fiction will love forever. Recommend so much!
