FOUR WEDDINGS AND A BREAK UP
Author: Elyssa Patrick
Release Date: May 12, 2014
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Summary:
One fake relationship . . .
Ginny Michaels has always been a good girl and—ever since surviving a school shooting a little over a year ago—hailed a hero. Except she doesn’t feel like a hero. She can’t even have a one-night stand with sexy Wes Dalton properly. When her big city fling resurfaces in her hometown with an intriguing proposition, she’s powerless to resist. A fake relationship is exactly what’s needed to keep her small town’s matchmakers at bay during the upcoming wedding season. If only her attraction to Wes were as easy to ignore.
Too many real kisses . . .
Wes Dalton doesn’t have many regrets, and that includes his night with Ginny. But he’s always hoped to strengthen his relationship with his estranged family. When his father’s health takes a bad turn, Wes puts his life on hold and moves to the meddling seaside town of Cape Hope. With his barriers in place—and a beautiful woman to help him hold them up—he’s prepared for anything. Or so he thinks. Despite his determination to leave as soon as the summer is over, those fake kisses are starting to feel an awful lot like the real thing.
I was lucky enough to get an interview with the lovely and funny Ms. Patrick, as well as an ARC of her book which I shall be reviewing shortly. Now, lets see what she has to say!
Book and Movie Dimension: Thanks so much for agreeing to be interviewed!Where did you get your ideas for Four Weddings and a Breakup? And why did you decide to write this particular book?
Elyssa Patrick: Thanks so much for having me on! I got the idea for Four Weddings and a Breakup when the first scene of the book popped into my head. The title came to me as I wrote the first chapter, and I knew the book would revolve around four weddings and a break up. I had to find out more about Ginny and Wes, aka Mr. Dangerous, and I really wanted to write it.
Book and Movie Dimension: They are very memorable characters! When did you realize that you wanted to be an author, and what was your first foray into writing?
Elyssa Patrick: It’s such a cliché, but I knew I wanted to write when I was really little. I always wrote stories and read a lot. I loved when my mom would take my siblings and I to the library and bookstore. I was shy (still am) and had a really bad speech impediment, which a lot of kids teased and bullied me about, so I found solace in different worlds these authors created. But being a published author seemed like a faraway dream, something that other people did.
My first “official” foray into writing when I entered the Avon Fanlit competition, which was about in 2006 or so. At the time, I was interested in writing historical romances. But the competition was really good in the sense because you were required to write so many words, have a little blurb, make a title, etc.
Book and Movie Dimension: I'm sure many aspiring writers will be inspired by your success. Now, for the question I've been dying to ask: have you ever been in a fake relationship?
Elyssa Patrick: If I had been, would I ever tell? ;)
Book and Movie Dimension: Too true! Where is your favourite place to write?
Elyssa Patrick: I usually write in the basement, because it’s free of distractions.
Book and Movie Dimension: basement - could be spooky! Are you the type of writer who plans every detail out before writing a book, or one who prefers to play it by ear?
Elyssa Patrick: I’m a pantser so I play it by ear.
Book and Movie Dimension: What’s your favourite thing about being an author?
Elyssa Patrick:So many things! I love writing—even when I struggle with a scene or particular point—but creating characters and worlds, and seeing them come to life on page is fun and rewarding. It’s even better when readers enjoy them, too.
Book and Movie Dimension: it does sound amazing. But how do you juggle family life and work?
Elyssa Patrick: I’m single so my family life is around my parents and siblings, and I work from home. But there are times when there seems to be a lot going on, and lots of juggling has to happen. Wine is always good for these occasions.
Book and Movie Dimension: Wine is good for many occasions.;)Are you working on any other projects at the moment?
Elyssa Patrick: Right now, I’m working on Go With Me, my second New Adult contemporary romance, which is set to release on July 1, 2014.
Book and Movie Dimension: great! I shall keep an eye out. As a reader, what are some of your favourite books?
Elyssa Patrick: As you can imagine I have so many favorite books. My all-time favorites include: Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, To Love a Thief by Julie Anne Long, Kiss an Angel and Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas, Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran, Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase, It Happened One Wedding by Julie James, The Chocolate Rose by Laura Florand, If I Stay by Tamara Morgan, and Simply Dangerous by Mary Balogh.
Book and Movie Dimension: yes, it can be hard to pick a fav. What are you most looking forward to in 2014?
Elyssa Patrick: I’m looking forward to books I got to read early to release: Tamara Morgan’s If I Stay, which also releases on May 12th, Laura Florand’s Sun-Kissed, and Nalini Singh’s Shield of Winter. All are spectacular reads! I’m also looking forward to Archangel’s Legion by Nalini Singh, Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Brown-Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas. I’m a huge fan of these authors.
Book and Movie Dimension: Me too! Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Elyssa Patrick: Read a lot. Write even more.
Book and Movie Dimension: If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose, and why?
Elyssa Patrick: Somewhere tropical and secluded, where I could enjoy the beach and quiet and write a lot.
Elyssa Patrick is a former high school English teacher who left the classroom to write contemporary romances and New Adult. She is currently hard at work on her next novel.

Big Fan! Author Interview with Elise Stokes
Quite a few days ago had a Cassidy Jones Adventures Character Interviews posted up and hopefully now you have an idea about Elise Stokes and her fun series Cassidy Jones. Or if you're familiar with Elise Stokes and the books then you will love the Character Interviews and this Author Interview. Hopefully, unless you have been living under a huge rock!
Elise Stokes lives in Washington State, with her husband and four children. She was an elementary school teacher before becoming a full-time mom. With a daughter in middle school and two in high school, Elise’s understanding of the challenges facing girls in that age range inspired her to create a series that will motivate girls to value individualism, courage, integrity, and intelligence. The stories in Cassidy Jones Adventures are fun and relatable, and a bit edgy without taking the reader uncomfortably out of bounds. Cassidy Jones and the Secret Formula and Cassidy Jones and Vulcan's Gift are the first two books in the series.
Kidding everyone. I'm aware you are not living under a rock.
Enjoy the Author Interview!

Author Interview
Questions and Answers
1. Jeff thank you for letting me ask some questions and probably taking time from you. Even so really excited! First off, how would you introduce your novel Awful, Ohio to readers who have yet to experience it?

It's a pleasure to answer some questions for you, Cassandra.
First, I would forewarn them that Awful, Ohio is a fictional extravaganza, that attempts to push the creative boundaries of pop-fiction, closer to the realm of literature. It's a lyrical, character study on multiple characters, all pursuing conflicting motives. And hopefully from an explanation like this, the potential reader can then conclude that the finale will be monumental.
2. If you had to relegate it to a book genre what would it be?
literary farce
3. How did going to Temple University enrich your writing knowledge and what are your fondest memories of being in Philadelphia?
The great thing about being in Philadelphia, and I imagine any large city, is that you always feel like you're in something. Whether night or day, if you stare up, you'll see these large, over bearing walls that are entirely encapsulating. It's literally a like being in a labyrinth.
Jeff Neal is a 26-year-old Caucasian male. From the dawn of his genesis, he's been heavily inebriated by music and movies, endowing him with a prental awareness sparked the fuse that ignited him into Temple University, where he was spoon fed a secondary education of english and philosophy that spawned the beginning of Awful, Ohio, while strolling down Norris and 12th street in Philadelphia in 2008. Although no longer living in Philadelphia, this prental awareness remained within, following him back to York County, where he currently resides with his beautiful wife. When not selling worms, inventing absurd products, jamming his guitar with sloppy chord changes, and engineering new plot lines for upcoming novels, he enjoys his days with his wife. They both spend their time fending off the demonic mortagage monster that attempts to devour their savings, but also engage in whatever activities attract their rountinely altering interests. Currently, they are fixated with website development and salads.

1. Extremely happy to have you here at Book & Movie Dimension a Blog, Zeinab! Especially with you being one of my favorite authors.
First off, would you introduce Puppet Parade to the masses?
I'm happy to be here as well! Thank you for having me.
The one thing a reader needs to know about Puppet Parade is that there's more to it than meets the eye. It may seem like an innocent tale of a puppeteer and a masked girl who go in search of a bunch of puppets who came to life and escaped, but once those two enter the world of the Parade, the reader will notice that there's something strange going on, something that's definitely not as perfect as everything seems on the surface.

Learn About Pantheons: Review of Pantheons by E. J. Dabel
1. Thanks so much E.J. for being able to answer questions for @ Book & Movie Dimension a Blog!
What can readers who haven't discovered your novel expect with Pantheons?
![]() |
| Add Pantheons to Your Goodreads.com Shelf |
2. What was the process of creating Pantheons in terms of research and coming up with ideas?
The research for Pantheons was intense, and no other words can quite describe it. When you’re dealing with gods from around the globe, there’s no way you can get around long hours of gathering information. My research covered not only the Greek gods, but Norse, Egyptian, Finnish, Hindu, Celtic, Asian, Native American Indian, Babylonian, other Pantheons yet to be revealed, as well as those born in the modern day called godlings.
3. How long did it take to finish Pantheons? Did it feel long to you or like it flew by?
It didn’t take me long to finish Pantheons. I was having so much fun with Isaiah that it flew by. It was the research that took the longest time, I’d have to say.
4. On the characters of Pantheons: Which would you say was your favorite to write about and why?
I would have to say Isaiah Marshall, because he’s new at being a teen god. Isaiah is trying to figure out his emerging powers, while some of the teen gods and goddesses he’s dealing with can already harness the very power of the sun itself, which is just one of the many things some of them can do. He’s up against some major obstacles and doesn’t have much time to figure it all out. I’d have to say Isaiah’s situation is just like your typical first day of High School, you’re never really quite ready for it, everything comes at you fast and you have to learn to adapt to the pressures of those four years as best as you can. Then there’s the issue of having to deal with your parents, the good, the bad, the scars you receive and those you deal out in that sometime turbulent relationship.
5. With the way things ended with Pantheons would we be seeing more of Sam, Pipsqueak, Jeremy, and Monty in future books?

Author Interview with Fantasy writer Marisa Mills author of "Andraste"
Marisa Mills's Bio

Author Interview
Questions and Answers
Learn About Andraste: Review of Andraste by Marisa Mills
For any readers out there who haven't been introduced to your book Andraste what would you tell them they'd surely get? Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it and glad to be interviewed!
Andraste is about a young warrior queen, government conspiracies, magical gemstones, vampires, and elves.
2. How long did writing Andraste take you and what was it like for you during that time? Did you feel like the time writing went by fast or slow?
It took about a year. I actually wrote it during one summer break and finished it up over the rest of the year. It was, I suppose, a really odd time for me writing it. I'd never written much before. I'd always wrote things. I'd scribble down stories and such in notebooks, but Andraste was my first serious attempt at writing something. It was actually pretty exciting. It was like, 'I'm really doing this!'
It felt like it went fast. I'm one of those people who will sit in front of a computer, get caught up in what I'm doing, and type for hours without realizing it.

Author Interview with Marie Harbon author of "Seven Point Eight" & 3 Day Free E-book Download
Marie Harbon's Bio:
Marie Harbon wrote her first novel length story at the age of twelve, which in retrospective was an early prototype of 'Lost', in that her secondary school class were shipwrecked on an island and had to contend with giant rabbits and aliens. Since then, she has written on and off, evolving her style and literary maturity.
'Seven Point Eight' began life as a short story in the early nineties but on realising the idea could be grown into something more substantial, it was later developed into a trilogy. When it became clear how vast an epic it was becoming, it was finally born as a full five part series of books. Work on 'The Second Chronicle' has already begun.
Discussions have just begun to turn 'Seven Point Eight' into a movie or TV series.
Aside from writing, Marie has two children and lives with her son and four guitars in the town of Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, which is in England. She is a self-confessed fabric geek and purveyor of beautiful, often ostentatious clothing.

Learn About Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle: Review of Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle by Marie Harbon
1. How can you introduce your novel "Seven Point Eight" to readers?
Be prepared for a journey, an expedition that draws together fringe science, psychic powers, alternate dimensions, time travel, past lives, miracles, folklore, consciousness,
![]() |
| Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle (Volume 1) |
Written in the style of a TV series, 'Seven Point Eight' interweaves the human dramas of love, betrayal, bitterness and above all, courage in a world where everyone must face their own dark shadow. Plus, it asks some pretty existential questions regarding the meaning of our lives and destiny, our karma and dharma, and last but not least, God and the universe.
'Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle’ lays the groundwork, and sweeps through the 40s, 50s and 60s to modern day in a wild nostalgic, scientific, paranormal ride. The physicist, Paul, begins a quest to measure the soul but soon founds himself swept into Max’s world, where research is sold to the military at the highest bid. When the talented psychic, Tahra, walks into his life, they soon embark on a ground-breaking project designed to stretch the frontiers of exploration, only to make a reality shattering discovery….
2. What set you on the road to writing "Seven Point Eight"?
The original concept revolved around a group of extraordinary people, although the over-arcing story came together over the period of a few years. I wrote a short story in the 90s featuring the machine and consciousness travel, and I liked the idea so much that I developed it further.

Author Interview
Questions and Answers
1. It's a real honor Jackie to be able to ask you questions @ Book and Movie Dimension a Blog! Especially since as of recently been reading your books and really have become a fan of your fantasy series of The Leland Dragon series. For anyone who hasn't yet discovered your Leland Dragon series how would you introduce them to it as?
Thank you, Cassandra! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the series. In introducing the series, I like to ask people “What do you like to read? Romance? Adventure? Mystery? Magic?” And I can honestly tell them, “That’s in my series! With dragons.”
2. How long did it take you to write Redheart? Sela? Can you share what were your favorite moments in writing each of them?
REDHEART was the first, and took the longest to write, because I dabbled at it for years, before finally promising myself I would take myself, and my writing, seriously. The novel went through a lot of incarnations before it finally gelled into the novel it is now. One of my favorite personal moments in writing REDHEART came after I’d typed “The End”. I was a busy mom of two little ones at the time, involved in their school activities, and working part time to pay for writing courses. My husband had moved ahead to a new job while I stayed behind until the house sold. When I told my mother-in-law I had finished the novel, her eyes went wide. She said, “With all that’s going on, with the move and everything, you had the discipline to find the time for that! That’s amazing.” That’s when it dawned on me. I did have what it took. And it was amazing.
The writing of SELA came during a challenging year, too. Isn’t life full of things like that? All in all, it took me about 6 or 7 months for the first draft, and a couple of major rewrites. Something fun that started developing during writing it was how my dog was getting the hang of my writing routine before I realized I had one. We adopted an English bulldog from a rescue a couple years ago, and since I do so much of my writing from home, in a little corner office in the bedroom, she spends a lot of time near and around my chair. After her morning outing and her breakfast, she began settling at her place by my chair before I was even there, yet.

It's been a while since reading Carry on the Flame: Destiny's Call by Jodine Turner which thought was an interesting book. Having just finished reading Jodine's book sometime last year in October of 2011 got approached to have a chat with Jodine. Which as a blogger found surreal and exciting.
